Production Blog choosing the app, importing photos, and music


I started to begin working on my All About Me commercial. I'm really excited to work on it because it's my first time making a commercial. The first thing I did was look for an editing app. There were many to choose from so, this process took a while. Many of them looked hard to use. I asked my teacher which one and she recommended capcut. I never used capcut before so, it was an interesting experience. When I got into the app it was a little bit confusing. I figured it out and made a project on there. I named it "AICE Media Studies All About Me commercial." I chose the videos and the photos I already planned to use. I needed to add the music. This was hard for me because I didn't know how to get the music. I asked my sister and she told me I had to download it. I downloaded both of my songs and imported them into capcut. I started to work on cutting my videos to show the parts I wanted to use. I did this for all of my videos because most of them were too long and I didn't want all of it to show. To do this I clicked on the video that I imported. It then shows options that I could choose from. The first option is "spilled" I use this to cut my videos. I use the white line on the capcut to cut the part I want. After I cut it I deleted the part I didn't want from the same section. I found "delete" which is four spaces to the right of spilt. I delete it then do this two more times to my other videos. That was what I did today on my commercial. I still have a lot to do. Anyway thank you for reading and bye.

Adding transitions and overlays

 On February 27 I continued to edit my opening sequence. On this day I did overlays and added transitions. I wanted to add an overlay for the scene when the main character was calling her friend on the bed. To do this I changed my own contact's name to "bestie" and made it look like I was calling someone. I took a picture of the call. Then imported the picture to CapCut. To do this I clicked on the "add photo" at the bottom of CapCut and then chose the photo I wanted. After I clicked on the photo went to the options on the bottom and chose "overlay". After choosing the overlay I dragged it to the scene where I wanted. Adjusted the size and placed it on top of my phone. Then adjusted the length of the overlay of how long I wanted to have it on the screen. Finding music and adding it to the opening sequence

 On February 28 I was finding the music to use for my opening sequence. For my opening sequence, I needed to use copyright-free music. I was able to find some on YouTube that were copyright-free by searching for them. I needed to find an upbeat and cheerful song to use for the beginning of the opening sequence when the main character is listening to music. So, the first thing I searched for was copyright-free music for pop. The song that I found and used was Royalty Free uploaded by a YouTube channel that allows them to use their music as long as you give them credit. I used the "BreakingCopyright" YouTube channel's "Crazy About You" song for the beginning of my opening sequence. Another song that I used that was able to be free was "Mystery 7 Suspense Background Music for Films & Documentaries" by the YouTube channel "LVKEHOUSE" which allows anyone to use these sounds without any copyright claims.
