Adding transitions and overlays

On February 27 I continued to edit my opening sequence. On this day I did overlays and added transitions. I wanted to add an overlay for the scene when the main character was calling her friend on the bed. To do this I changed my own contact's name to "bestie" and made it look like I was calling someone. I took a picture of the call. Then imported the picture to CapCut. To do this I clicked on the "add photo" at the bottom of CapCut and then chose the photo I wanted. After I clicked on the photo went to the options on the bottom and chose "overlay". After choosing the overlay I dragged it to the scene where I wanted. Adjusted the size and placed it on top of my phone. Then adjusted the length of the overlay of how long I wanted to have it on the screen. This was a little bit hard to do because I hadn't done something like this before. So, to add this overlay it took about forty-five minutes or more to do. I did the same steps for the "unknown

Finding music and adding it to the opening sequence

On February 28 I was finding the music to use for my opening sequence. For my opening sequence, I needed to use copyright-free music. I was able to find some on YouTube that were copyright-free by searching for them. I needed to find an upbeat and cheerful song to use for the beginning of the opening sequence when the main character is listening to music. So, the first thing I searched for was copyright-free music for pop. The song that I found and used was Royalty Free uploaded by a YouTube channel that allows them to use their music as long as you give them credit. I used the "BreakingCopyright" YouTube channel's "Crazy About You" song for the beginning of my opening sequence. Another song that I used that was able to be free was "Mystery 7 Suspense Background Music for Films & Documentaries" by the YouTube channel "LVKEHOUSE" which allows anyone to use these sounds without any copyright claims. To find the mysterious sound effects I w

Adding voiceovers on CapCut

I continued to edit where I left off. I started to edit again on February 26 on this day I was doing my voiceovers for all the scenes that needed them. The first voice-over I started with is in scene one. In this scene, it's the main character talking to her friend on her phone about her new dog. To do the voice I click on the bottom tab and click on "audio". After clicking on audio it gives me options I click on the one that says "voiceover" After doing this a blue microphone appears. I hold down the microphone and record the parts I need to and when I finish it I release it. I did this for each of the scenes I needed to do. I  moved to the scene I wanted to do which was the first scene of me in the bedroom. Then I hit record for the voiceover and ended it until I got to the end of the scene. I had to redo this park a few times because there were many times where the audio recording would be too long or too short for the scene. The next voiceover scene I did w

Importing the scenes on CapCut

I started to edit my opening sequence together. I began editing on February twenty third. On this day I put all of my scenes on Capcut and adjusted the lengths. The first thing I did was open Capcut. I use the app on my phone so, its easy to do this. Once adding the clips to Capcut on the bottom of the screen it has different tabs I can choose the "edit" tab. After clicking on the tab it takes me to this page where I can make my own project. To do this I click on the "new project" button on the app. After clicking on this button it takes me to my camera roll. It has the options to use videos, photos, or live photos. I click on the "video" option. After clicking on this option I choose all of my scenes for my opening sequence. I do this by clicking on the video then choosing the "add" option on the bottom right corner of the screen. After doing this it take me to where I can add effects, music, and transitions to the video. It imports all of my c

Filming at the park

The last scene I needed to film was at the park. I filmed these scenes on February twelve. The first thing I filmed was an establishment shot of the park. I filmed this because this was easy I didn't need to act. After filming that my sister did the rest of the filming and I did the acting. The first scene I filmed was me talking to my dog for this it was a little bit hard to do because I had to tell my dog to catch the ball., But, my dog doesn't know how to play fetch. So, to film this scene it was hard to do and required many tries to film it. Due to this, it took thirty minutes to film this one small scene. After talking to my dog and throwing the ball. I moved on to the next scene. Which is me answering the phone after I threw my dog's ball. For this scene, I'm having a dialogue with an unknown person. This was easy to film because the call only lasted about ten seconds. For this, I changed my sister's icon to "Unknown called ID" to make it seem like s

Filming the neighborhood scenes

I continued to film for the next scenes. My next day of filming was on February five. On this day I filmed the neighborhood scenes of the main character walking her dog to the party. The first thing I filmed was a tilt shot of the blue sky. This was easy and simple to do. My sister, there helped me film the next scenes because I was playing the main character role. The tilt shot would go from the sky to me walking my dog in the neighborhood. I had few lines so, I had to do some acting. For this scene me walking with my dog I was talking to my dog and saying how sunny it was. This took a few tries because I kept messing up the script or my dog wouldn't walk when filming was starting. So, it took a while to do that scene. It took around twenty-five minutes to thirty.  After finishing the scene with me talking. I had to film more scenes of me walking my dog. There were many angles I wanted to incorporate so, I had to act walking my dog a few times. When my sister finished filming my

Finishing filming the house scenes

I continued to film. I began filming the next scenes on January 31 a couple days after my first-time filming. On this day I was finishing up the scenes that were in my house. My sister was helping me film again while I was acting. The first thing that was filmed was me leaving the bed and walking to my dog in the next room. This was a tracking shot so, while I was acting the camera was following me. This took a couple of tries to do because the tracking shot was either faster than my walking pace or too slow. The next thing I did after that was pick up my dog. This was easy to do because the scene was only about ten seconds or less. After I did the next scene which transitioned to me putting on my dog's leash downstairs. For this, I had to put my dog's leash on. This was simple to do because I walk my dog regularly, so I didn't have any trouble putting on the leash. This took about thirty minutes to do. It was longer than expected because I wasn't satisfied with the fi

Filming at my house

I started filming on January 29 as I planned on my schedule. The first place being filmed is at my house. I'm filming the beginning scenes of the opening sequence. I first filmed an establishing shot before doing the acting scenes. This was easy to film. I stood outside of my house using my iPhone x and filmed an establishing shot of my house. After, I began filming the first scene which takes place in the bedroom. I'm the actor in the opening sequence so, my sister is filming the shots for me while I act. The first thing I did for acting was laying on my bed and pretending to read a book. After doing the shot which took five minutes. I moved to the next one where I checked my phone because I was getting a call. I answered the call but, I had to stand still because this scene had an over-shoulder shot. After those shots were being filmed, I did a dialogue of me talking to someone on the phone. This took a couple tries to do because I kept messing up the script. This was the ha
