Production Blog: Adding transitions and effects.

For the music video, I worked more on the editing today. I started editing the next scene which is an over-shoulder shot of the messages between the girl and her boyfriend. It shows the message of her boyfriend wanting to break up with her. For this scene, I wanted to add the text message on the side of her because it's hard to see it in the video. To do this I used the "text" tool in CapCut clicked on it and typed the messages. For each new message, I would add a new text box for it. I wanted to make it pop up like text messages do on phones. So, I went on Google to find the background of a text message as a png. Then I saved it and imported it to CapCut by dragging it and placing it behind the text to make it look like a text message. I adjusted the length of the text messages by matching it with the phone in the video. To do this I clicked on the text and spilt it by clicking on "spilt" and deleted the part to match the length. I also did this with the png of

Production Blog: Adding scenes and music.

For the music video all of the scenes got filmed now it just needed to be edited. My sister and I worked on the editing together. The editing software I used was CapCut. The first this I did was import all the videos of the scenes into the app. To do this I clicked on the "create new video" which is the first thing I see when I open CapCut on my phone. Then I clicked on the "click to upload" to import all of the scenes. I had to send the scenes to my laptop from my phone to do this. After I needed to download the music for the music video. So, I went to YouTube to download the music. To do this I clicked on the three dots on the music video on YouTube and clicked on the option "download". After downloading it I imported it to CapCut by dragging it into the "Drag and drop media". I started to place the clips where I wanted. I used my storyboard to help me with placing each scene so, I wouldn't get confused. To do this I used my mouse on my com

Production Blog: Going to my neighborhood and my room.

The next places that were being filmed were in my neighborhood and my room. The first scene that was filmed today was in my neighborhood. Both of us decided to choose this scene first to film today because it's outside and the scene needed to be in the daylight. For this scene, I'm walking along my neighborhood holding my phone and texting. This was easy to film because I didn't have to do much. The next scene that was filmed was in our room. The next neighborhood scene needed to be at night and it was still daylight. So, while waiting for it to get dark the room scenes were being filmed. For this scene, the first one I did was I was against the best holding my phone and looking sad. This scene is what starts at the beginning of the music video. This will create the mood that something is wrong with the girl. The scene shows the messages of her getting broken up. For this to work I changed my contact name to "boyfriend" and texted myself so, it can look like someo

Production Blog: Shooting at Publix and a park.

For our music video, the first thing to do is the filming. The scene that is being filmed first is the Publix scene. Even though this scene is later in the video. This would be the hardest to film since it's the farthest location from our house. So, this scene was chosen to film first to get it over with. Publix is near our house so, both of us walked there. In the music video, I play the girl who gets heartbroken. For this scene, I filmed an establishing shot which is Publix. In the scene, I walk into Publix. After this scene was filmed the prop for this scene was flowers. The flowers symbolize the girl moving on and focusing on herself. So, after the first shot of me walking to Publix the second is me exiting with flowers (which I had nothing in my hands before) to make it seem like she bought flowers from Publix. After I walk out of Publix the next thing being filmed is me walking with the flowers along the side of Publix. The shot is a medium-long shot and close-up these types

Production Blog: Choosing the camera angels.

Before filming I wanted to first choose the angels for the music video so it would be easy when filming. For the first scene, the angel I chose for this was "tilt". I chose this panel because it would help convey what this scene is trying to show which is a girl against her bed who is sad. The next angel I chose was an over-shoulder shot to show the messages between the girl and her boyfriend break-up message. This shot would explain why this girl looks sad in the first scene. For this scene three I choose a long shot. In this scene, the girl will be walking in her neighborhood. The message from this scene shows how stressed she is. In the next scene, I chose another over-shoulder angel of what the girl is messaging to her boyfriend. This shows how much this situation is affecting this girl. The next scene is a long shot and a medium shot. In this scene the girl is still walking but, it's night. She is frustrated because her boyfriend won't answer because, of this sh

Planning Blog

Props - Phone - Flowers - Letter Location - Bedroom (ours) - A park. By my house, there is a park with a river. - Neighborhood street  - Publix Schedule The first scene is to be filmed in the bedroom. This will be easy since we have easy access to this as it's our room. - The second scene is to be filmed in the neighborhood street. This is outside of our house so, it would also be easy to film. -The third scene is to be filmed in the park It is a 10-minute walk from the house so, it would be easy to film. - The fourth scene to be filmed is Publix is a 25-minute walk from the house so, it would also be easy to film. Back up plan - If it rains we will still film because it would go along with the storyline anyway. Costumes -The main character's outfit wears a zip-up jacket and sweatpants. - The makeup look will be dark, smudge mascara, and dark circles to show that the main character is struggling. Also, another makeup look will be a natural positive look. To show how the main ch

Group Blog

For this project, I'm going to be working with one other person. It is my sister her name is Natalie. I chose to work with her because I wanted to be in a group for this project. I could do a better job being in a group because both of us can contribute, and having another person could make the music video enjoyable. Both of us are different so, in the music video l can have our creativity together to make a good commercial. I found my group member because she is my sister we both take this class but, in different periods.  Since I'm her sister  I know what her work ethics are like. And I can trust her that she will help with the music video al and get the work done. The song they were doing is "You Broke Me First" by Tate McRae. Selecting a song was a long process because it was a hard time to choose which artist to do since there were so many. Both of us made a list and I contributed some artists or songs that could be possible. After through the list, there were tw

Introduction Blog

Hi, welcome back my name is Elizabeth Ehney. I go to Fort Lauderdale High School. I'm 15 years old in grade 10 and the classes I'm taking this year are AP human geography, AICE English language, Algebra 2, Chemistry, AICE psychology, AICE European history, and AICE media studies. I'm really excited about my classes this year because, they seem really fun and interesting to learn about so, I'm looking forward to seeing what is coming. Something to know about me is that I take school seriously it is one of my main priorities that I work hard for. As long as I'm doing my best I don't worry about my grades because I know it's something that I gave my all towards. A few things that I like are swimming, clothes, hanging out with my friends, and watching TV shows. I started learning how to swim the strokes last year in October I was taking lessons then, in November I joined a swim team. However, I ended up taking a break in March for a couple of months. I wanted
