Production Blog: Adding scenes and music.

For the music video all of the scenes got filmed now it just needed to be edited. My sister and I worked on the editing together. The editing software I used was CapCut. The first this I did was import all the videos of the scenes into the app. To do this I clicked on the "create new video" which is the first thing I see when I open CapCut on my phone. Then I clicked on the "click to upload" to import all of the scenes. I had to send the scenes to my laptop from my phone to do this. After I needed to download the music for the music video. So, I went to YouTube to download the music. To do this I clicked on the three dots on the music video on YouTube and clicked on the option "download". After downloading it I imported it to CapCut by dragging it into the "Drag and drop media". I started to place the clips where I wanted. I used my storyboard to help me with placing each scene so, I wouldn't get confused. To do this I used my mouse on my computer to drag them to their place. For some of the scenes I needed to cut off a few things so, I would click on the scene split the part I wanted gone then delete it to get rid of it. I did this for a few scenes. Next, I needed to cut the music because it didn't match well with the scenes. I spilt the music to do this I clicked on "spilled" and I did this to multiple parts of the songs to put the parts I wanted together. This took me around twenty-five minutes because it was hard to find parts of the song that would blend and sound good. After doing this I started working on the editing of the first scene of me against the bed texting. For this scene, I wanted to have a text that said the song's name "You broke me first". To do this I clicked on "text" and typed the song's name. Then adjusted it to the length of the first scene. This means that the song's name only shown in the beginning. I did this because, in most pop music videos they usually put the title of the song's name. That's all I did today. Thank you for reading and bye.

Adding transitions and overlays

On February 27 I continued to edit my opening sequence. On this day I did overlays and added transitions. I wanted to add an overlay for the scene when the main character was calling her friend on the bed. To do this I changed my own contact's name to "bestie" and made it look like I was calling someone. I took a picture of the call. Then imported the picture to CapCut. To do this I clicked on the "add photo" at the bottom of CapCut and then chose the photo I wanted. After I clicked on the photo went to the options on the bottom and chose "overlay". After choosing the overlay I dragged it to the scene where I wanted. Adjusted the size and placed it on top of my phone. Then adjusted the length of the overlay of how long I wanted to have it on the screen. This was a little bit hard to do because I hadn't done something like this before. So, to add this overlay it took about forty-five minutes or more to do. I did the same steps for the "unknown...

Finding music and adding it to the opening sequence

On February 28 I was finding the music to use for my opening sequence. For my opening sequence, I needed to use copyright-free music. I was able to find some on YouTube that were copyright-free by searching for them. I needed to find an upbeat and cheerful song to use for the beginning of the opening sequence when the main character is listening to music. So, the first thing I searched for was copyright-free music for pop. The song that I found and used was Royalty Free uploaded by a YouTube channel that allows them to use their music as long as you give them credit. I used the "BreakingCopyright" YouTube channel's "Crazy About You" song for the beginning of my opening sequence. Another song that I used that was able to be free was "Mystery 7 Suspense Background Music for Films & Documentaries" by the YouTube channel "LVKEHOUSE" which allows anyone to use these sounds without any copyright claims. To find the mysterious sound effects I w...
