Production Blog: Adding transitions and effects.

For the music video, I worked more on the editing today. I started editing the next scene which is an over-shoulder shot of the messages between the girl and her boyfriend. It shows the message of her boyfriend wanting to break up with her. For this scene, I wanted to add the text message on the side of her because it's hard to see it in the video. To do this I used the "text" tool in CapCut clicked on it and typed the messages. For each new message, I would add a new text box for it. I wanted to make it pop up like text messages do on phones. So, I went on Google to find the background of a text message as a png. Then I saved it and imported it to CapCut by dragging it and placing it behind the text to make it look like a text message. I adjusted the length of the text messages by matching it with the phone in the video. To do this I clicked on the text and spilt it by clicking on "spilt" and deleted the part to match the length. I also did this with the png of the text message so, it can match. I wanted the PNG of the message to slide up so, I chose an effect for it. The effect I chose is called "slide show" I found it in "effects" and adjusted it to the length of the video, so it would match. After I choose a transition for the next scene. The effect I added is fade-out. I found this in "Effects". This transitions from the scene in the bedroom to her walking in her neighborhood on her phone. For this scene, it shows her walking and texting on her phone. I also wanted to the text messages alongside the screen because it was hard to see them in the video. I did the same steps as before. I also used a png from the background so, it could give the effect that the texting is shown on the screen. After the scene, it transitions to night. I used the "fade-out" effect in "effects" to transition from this scene. That's all I did today. Thank you for reading and bye.

Music Video

 Hi thank you for watching.

Doing a film review + adding changes to it

On March 11 I had my sister do a film review of my opening sequence. My sister reviewed it and said that she liked the beginning shot and the music chosen for the beginning of the opening sequence. However, she did make a few suggestions to change the lightning to make it have a more mysterious vibe. So, one of the first changes I made was to adjust the lighting to darker. To do this I clicked on my opening sequence went to the bottom of the options and chose "adjust". With these options, I was able to adjust my lighting to make it have a more mysterious vibe. She also suggested to increase the volume of the main character talking because she couldn't understand what she said in the opening sequence. I went into CapCut to fix these by increasing the volume on the parts where the main character is speaking. To do this I clicked on the audio of the scene where she was talking and there was an option to increase the volume so, I just adjusted the volume to higher to make su...

Production Blog choosing the app, importing photos, and music

I started to begin working on my All About Me commercial. I'm really excited to work on it because it's my first time making a commercial. The first thing I did was look for an editing app. There were many to choose from so, this process took a while. Many of them looked hard to use. I asked my teacher which one and she recommended capcut. I never used capcut before so, it was an interesting experience. When I got into the app it was a little bit confusing. I figured it out and made a project on there. I named it "AICE Media Studies All About Me commercial." I chose the videos and the photos I already planned to use. I needed to add the music. This was hard for me because I didn't know how to get the music. I asked my sister and she told me I had to download it. I downloaded both of my songs and imported them into capcut. I started to work on cutting my videos to show the parts I wanted to use. I did this for all of my videos because most of them were too long and...
