Production Blog: Going to my neighborhood and my room.

The next places that were being filmed were in my neighborhood and my room. The first scene that was filmed today was in my neighborhood. Both of us decided to choose this scene first to film today because it's outside and the scene needed to be in the daylight. For this scene, I'm walking along my neighborhood holding my phone and texting. This was easy to film because I didn't have to do much. The next scene that was filmed was in our room. The next neighborhood scene needed to be at night and it was still daylight. So, while waiting for it to get dark the room scenes were being filmed. For this scene, the first one I did was I was against the best holding my phone and looking sad. This scene is what starts at the beginning of the music video. This will create the mood that something is wrong with the girl. The scene shows the messages of her getting broken up. For this to work I changed my contact name to "boyfriend" and texted myself so, it can look like someone texted me. I did this before filming to make sure it made the process easier and the editing. The next scene I filmed is in my room at my desk where in this scene I'm writing a letter that says "To new beginnings". This scene is at the end of the music video to symbolize that she moved on from her ex and is ready to start over. After she writes the letter she gets a text from her ex. This would show how toxic her is ex and how manipulative he is. It shows that it won't be over even though the girl wants to move forward. For this scene I needed to use two phones to send a text so, the phone that is being filmed shows that there is a notification from the girl's ex. I used my sister's phone and changed her contact name to "ex" to send a message. Once I sent the text I would film the phone on the desk with the notification. After filming all these scenes it was dark which meant that the night scenes could be filmed now. The next scene that was filmed was me walking at night looking at the phone constantly and then throwing it on the floor because it shows the storyline that the girl is frustrated that her ex won't answer which shows how much the girl cared. After all, she is still walking from day to night. The scene plays after the day walking scene so, it transitions from day to night to show this meaning. For the night scene, I didn't actually throw my phone I threw my phone case on the floor so, my phone wouldn't break. I filmed the broken phone on the floor after I threw it so, it can bring out the emotions that the storyline is trying to convey. To make it seem like the phone was broken I changed my phone screen wallpaper to a broken screen. This was the last scene that needed to be done so, all that was left was to edit the scenes together. That's what I did today for our music video. Thank you for reading and bye.

Music Video

 Hi thank you for watching.

Finding music and adding it to the opening sequence

On February 28 I was finding the music to use for my opening sequence. For my opening sequence, I needed to use copyright-free music. I was able to find some on YouTube that were copyright-free by searching for them. I needed to find an upbeat and cheerful song to use for the beginning of the opening sequence when the main character is listening to music. So, the first thing I searched for was copyright-free music for pop. The song that I found and used was Royalty Free uploaded by a YouTube channel that allows them to use their music as long as you give them credit. I used the "BreakingCopyright" YouTube channel's "Crazy About You" song for the beginning of my opening sequence. Another song that I used that was able to be free was "Mystery 7 Suspense Background Music for Films & Documentaries" by the YouTube channel "LVKEHOUSE" which allows anyone to use these sounds without any copyright claims. To find the mysterious sound effects I w...

Doing a film review + adding changes to it

On March 11 I had my sister do a film review of my opening sequence. My sister reviewed it and said that she liked the beginning shot and the music chosen for the beginning of the opening sequence. However, she did make a few suggestions to change the lightning to make it have a more mysterious vibe. So, one of the first changes I made was to adjust the lighting to darker. To do this I clicked on my opening sequence went to the bottom of the options and chose "adjust". With these options, I was able to adjust my lighting to make it have a more mysterious vibe. She also suggested to increase the volume of the main character talking because she couldn't understand what she said in the opening sequence. I went into CapCut to fix these by increasing the volume on the parts where the main character is speaking. To do this I clicked on the audio of the scene where she was talking and there was an option to increase the volume so, I just adjusted the volume to higher to make su...
