Production Blog: Shooting at Publix and a park.

For our music video, the first thing to do is the filming. The scene that is being filmed first is the Publix scene. Even though this scene is later in the video. This would be the hardest to film since it's the farthest location from our house. So, this scene was chosen to film first to get it over with. Publix is near our house so, both of us walked there. In the music video, I play the girl who gets heartbroken. For this scene, I filmed an establishing shot which is Publix. In the scene, I walk into Publix. After this scene was filmed the prop for this scene was flowers. The flowers symbolize the girl moving on and focusing on herself. So, after the first shot of me walking to Publix the second is me exiting with flowers (which I had nothing in my hands before) to make it seem like she bought flowers from Publix. After I walk out of Publix the next thing being filmed is me walking with the flowers along the side of Publix. The shot is a medium-long shot and close-up these types of shots help bring the message of her moving on. The second scene that was filmed was the river scene. This scene is also later in the music video it was the second hardest to film so, it was filmed next. In this scene, the girl (me) goes to the river to read the letter her ex wrote for her. Then throws it away. For this scene, it was filmed at a park that is a 10-minute walk from our house. The first thing filmed was a pan shot of me sitting at the edge of a river. The next thing that was filmed was an over-shoulder shot of me reading the letter. After the next scene, I walked to the trash can at this park and threw away the letter. This scene was filmed at a low angel. These different angels and shots help bring the message out from how she feels upset about the situation and realizes the type of person her boyfriend is. which is why she throws the letter away because it was basically all a lie. In the letter which is the prop for this scene, it says that he will never break up with her and will always like her. However, that wasn't true since he broke up with him. This helps show what type of person her boyfriend was and how it affected her. Anyway, that is what my sister and I did for now thank you for reading and bye.

Adding transitions and overlays

On February 27 I continued to edit my opening sequence. On this day I did overlays and added transitions. I wanted to add an overlay for the scene when the main character was calling her friend on the bed. To do this I changed my own contact's name to "bestie" and made it look like I was calling someone. I took a picture of the call. Then imported the picture to CapCut. To do this I clicked on the "add photo" at the bottom of CapCut and then chose the photo I wanted. After I clicked on the photo went to the options on the bottom and chose "overlay". After choosing the overlay I dragged it to the scene where I wanted. Adjusted the size and placed it on top of my phone. Then adjusted the length of the overlay of how long I wanted to have it on the screen. This was a little bit hard to do because I hadn't done something like this before. So, to add this overlay it took about forty-five minutes or more to do. I did the same steps for the "unknown...

Finding music and adding it to the opening sequence

On February 28 I was finding the music to use for my opening sequence. For my opening sequence, I needed to use copyright-free music. I was able to find some on YouTube that were copyright-free by searching for them. I needed to find an upbeat and cheerful song to use for the beginning of the opening sequence when the main character is listening to music. So, the first thing I searched for was copyright-free music for pop. The song that I found and used was Royalty Free uploaded by a YouTube channel that allows them to use their music as long as you give them credit. I used the "BreakingCopyright" YouTube channel's "Crazy About You" song for the beginning of my opening sequence. Another song that I used that was able to be free was "Mystery 7 Suspense Background Music for Films & Documentaries" by the YouTube channel "LVKEHOUSE" which allows anyone to use these sounds without any copyright claims. To find the mysterious sound effects I w...
