Reflection

The technology I learned to use was a software editing app called "capcut." This app allowed me to put my photos and clips together to make my commercial. I downloaded this app from my iPhone at the app store. I never used an editing app before so, it was a little bit confusing to use. I found this app by asking my teacher for recommendations. My teacher recommended using a capcut because it's good for beginners and simple to use. It was my first time using capcut but I would say I was able to figure things out on my own. Even though it did take some time, I never done a project like this before. This app helped me advance my technology skills by learning to create and put things together. What I learned from this process of putting a project together is the steps, the amount of time, and the materials you need to make it. I learned that to create this project you need to have your videos and clips so, you can be able to make the commercial. It took time to get this media since I didn't have it all. This helped me understand that it takes time to gather your clips for your projects. Making a project takes a lot of time to edit. There are so many things and details that I needed to add for this project which took a lot of time to do. During this process, it was able to help me be more familiar with putting clips together and adding music to my commercial. To make my project better I think I could use more photos and videos. I had short videos and a few photos so, I didn't have much to show in the commercial. The editing can also improve more some parts are a little boring and have little to none editing. If I added more transitions and effects it could improve the commercial a lot by making it seem more interesting to watch. The quality of my videos and photos could have been also better. I realized the photos and videos I chose didn't have the best quality. Choosing better-quality photos would have made the commercial nicer. The music could have also been better both the songs I used don't match well with each other. So, it makes the commercial seem unorganized if I chose two songs that are similar and matched well with each other it would have made the music choice better.

Adding transitions and overlays

On February 27 I continued to edit my opening sequence. On this day I did overlays and added transitions. I wanted to add an overlay for the scene when the main character was calling her friend on the bed. To do this I changed my own contact's name to "bestie" and made it look like I was calling someone. I took a picture of the call. Then imported the picture to CapCut. To do this I clicked on the "add photo" at the bottom of CapCut and then chose the photo I wanted. After I clicked on the photo went to the options on the bottom and chose "overlay". After choosing the overlay I dragged it to the scene where I wanted. Adjusted the size and placed it on top of my phone. Then adjusted the length of the overlay of how long I wanted to have it on the screen. This was a little bit hard to do because I hadn't done something like this before. So, to add this overlay it took about forty-five minutes or more to do. I did the same steps for the "unknown...

Finding music and adding it to the opening sequence

On February 28 I was finding the music to use for my opening sequence. For my opening sequence, I needed to use copyright-free music. I was able to find some on YouTube that were copyright-free by searching for them. I needed to find an upbeat and cheerful song to use for the beginning of the opening sequence when the main character is listening to music. So, the first thing I searched for was copyright-free music for pop. The song that I found and used was Royalty Free uploaded by a YouTube channel that allows them to use their music as long as you give them credit. I used the "BreakingCopyright" YouTube channel's "Crazy About You" song for the beginning of my opening sequence. Another song that I used that was able to be free was "Mystery 7 Suspense Background Music for Films & Documentaries" by the YouTube channel "LVKEHOUSE" which allows anyone to use these sounds without any copyright claims. To find the mysterious sound effects I w...
